    If the club had not made a statement people would complain and now they have made a statement (albeit could and probably should have had a little more content, this from PNE is better IMO http://www.pnefc.net/news/article/club-statement030414-1465707.aspx) people still complain!

    We're in a relegation scrap and now this, the last thing needed is negativity!

    PNE statement was good and what Gally said starting his own thread was a better club statement. I wasn't expecting alot to be said but saying they are aware of a huge news story about our club really is the bare min. I'd have gone with something like this.....

    It makes perfect sense - basically the club have said that they wont be discussing it at the moment - which is fair enough I dont know what they can say
    especially if they had no advance warning Ben and Danny must be trying to work out how to limit any effects and not detract from tomorrows vital game
    last thing they want to do is rush out some statement that may come back and bite them later.

    Preston have made a similar statement but with a little bit more detail just saying the cops were in contact yesterday and none of the players have actually been charged and so are available tomorrow
