Actually think this is a good clever signing. But on also on a free. You don't get on the books at man united for nothing. From his interview he seems willing to work hard and pleased to be here. Flicker said he's not signing anyone who is not willing to dig in and put the effort in. Looking forward to seeing the kid play.

1 year with the option of another year is clever too. If it doesn't work out for whatever reason, at least we don't have him tied down for 2 years. If he really impresses and shows some potential, we have the option of extending his contract (probably automatically) for another year. Helpful if we have a Vaz Te situation again when other clubs become interested (only had 6 months left on his contract) etc.

Exactly mate. Could turn out to be a very shrewd signing! Flicker keeps trying to find the next 'Vaz Te' and i think this lads got the pedigree for it.

Apparently Flicker wants to turn him into a machine... So that'd be a Cofie machine. Mine's a cappucino...

Something I'll never understand is people berating players in a place they can actually see it...

I had a look on his twitter to see if he had tweeted anything about signing for us and the only reply from a Barnsley fan I could find was this one

    https://twitter.com/GlennDowleBFC

@jcofie19 <----------- the only word in my mind is... *drum roll* ... WHO? From what everyone is saying, we've signed a right bum!

Well, Glenn, the only word in my mind is... *drum roll* ... WHO? From what everyone is saying he's a player with a lot of potential, enough to get on the books at Manchester United, who is ready to buy into the Flicker DNA.

Imagine what he must think signing from the club and his first tweet from a fan being some idiot slagging him off.. It is hardly going to make him want to work harder from the club, I am just genuinely curious about what arr Glenn is getting out of sending that tweet.

Just commented on this tweet myself. How damaging that must be to a 19 year old lad who's coming in to try and give his all for this club, it's a shame our club houses so many bellends like this kid.

Why don't you ask him on Twitter?

    my antwerp mate says

he could be a great player - has some great talent but just wasnt at Antwerp long enough for them to see him fulfill his potential.

Flicker & co will mold him into a player im sure.
