Just read on owlstalk that he has scored 9 in 18 starts for us. If this is true, that's a fantastic return. What a signing. And with every goal he scores, Wednesday fans go mental seemingly...the gift that just keeps on giving!
Absolutely correct. 3 from 5 starts this season and 6 from 13 starts and 3 sub appearances. After numerous poorly managed transfers out, nice to finally pull someone else's pants down on a transfer in. Especially when it's the pigs.
To be pedantic one of his goals was when he came on as sub so it would actually only be 8 from the 19 starts and 1 from 3 sub appearances but yes it is a fantastic return
I find it completely weird, how they go into meltdown whenever he scores. They unanimously thought he was gash when he was with them. I don't get the obsession
One of the VPs at Leeds City College is a big Wednesday fan and he told me we could have Cog as Wednesday were only interested in signing Premiership players. I hope he keeps putting them in the net and rubbing there noses in it.
What Sheffield Wednesday fans think their club is and what it actually is is two very different things. They were relegated from the Premier League a year after us, haven't been back, and have been relegated from the Championship twice. They may have a bigger fanbase than us, but in context of the catchment area they have the attendances that they seem so proud of are pretty average when you think about it, they make out we're not in their 'league' as such. This mentality, which is obviously held by the management as well, is why they've got rid of the likes of O'Grady and replaced him with some foreign guy who by all accounts is terrible. I saw them against us twice last season and a couple of times on TV and in terms of quality and technical ability they were probably the poorest side in the division, being a more physical side they were able to out-muscle just about enough teams to stay up. That sort of side is never going to do anything in this league though, and as an outsider looking in they seem a poorer team on paper than they did at the start of last year. Think they'll stay up though, I reckon Yeovil, Millwall and Charlton will go down.
