Our improved form since Xmas has been achieved by a very regular matchday group of 18 to 20 lads. And just a couple of loanees. Unlike the appalling run where we had five in the matchday squad and another three or summat in the stands. I'm adding it to the list of things that helped transform our fortunes, with Hammill signing, LJ dropping his boring philosophy, Hourihane's return from injury, Winnall playing with a strike partner, the club finally signing a left back we've needed since Golbourne left, Conor Wilkinson leaving, and luck.
Connor bleedin Wilkinson......the main reason Im not having LJ being a good manager....a blind man on a galloping horse could have seen him play and thought no no and thrice no..absolute garbage
We have the majority of the side playing well recently as opposed to three or four early season. Confidence and an experienced head or two works wonders. Meddlin managers dunt help either like.
Really makes you wonder where we would be if the 'tactical genius' hadn't pissed about so much at the beginning of the season and just taken the game to the opposition.
Nice try but we all know that I'm their lucky charm. We've won every home game since I got my season ticket. Coincidence? I think not.
It's definitely not a coincidence. I was going barmy on here at Johnson constantly changing personnel & formation earlier in the season when it wasn't needed along with bringing in loanees & playing Scowen & Hourihane out of position to accommodate them
ADAM HAMMILL I typed that in capitals as he is the major reason our season turned. There are other factors of course some of which imo are finding a left back. playing 442 our best players in Winnall and hourihane hitting form Fielding a settled 11 Finding a centre half in long who knew how to defend
I agree that there were a lot of factors including Hamill that helped the change. To add... - we stooped swapping and changing the back 3 to 4 and rotating personnel - we have cover and place pressure for RB and LB - we strengthened in forward, midfield and defence with more capable players - we narrowed our loanees to better quality and players who wanted to play - Hamill not only added skill but brought balance allowing Isgrove to perform in a more balanced formation - we built confidence and more experience in goal by playing Davies consistently - we clearly worked individually to be better players, Hourihane, Mawson to name two who are better now. - while not just a change mid season, we have more players that contribute in assisted and goals than we ended last season with. We capitalised on this more as our defence became stronger. - confidence has grown I could go on. Lots of little things that contributed.
