He is bang on what we need, a bloke to sit in and win the ball but can also spray it around a bit, he doesn't need to be box to box. He is our best defensive midfielder available but wont even travel to QPR, well done simon!!

Theres no way Johnson can be match-fit either. The whole issue is a disaster.

Has to be togwell to start with doesnt it?

While getting the coaching staff to work intensely with Johnson and Colace to get them fit.

We should be starting with the fit and ready to go defensive midfielder and making sure that we open up as many options as we can by developing the fitness of the other players i nthat position in order to increase the options.

Or we do it simon's way, transfer list all our defensive midfielders, make them play with the academy lads and continue playing a full back in midfield.

this policy also works up front where we blank one, ship another out to another continent and stick with odejayi.

    Doubly agreed

As 'Bub says, for that role you don't need to be box-to-box, just someone to sit there and break up play. Whereas Bobby has no positional sense - especially for that role and last season was often seen higher up the pitch than Howard, which for a defensive midfielder is very wrong. Fair enough Bobby is more mobile, but when you are just running around like a headless chicken (my opinion of him in that role) then I'd prefer Johnson there anyday - I can't comment on Colace cos i've not seen him at all.

up until yesterday, only because I haven't been today, Johnson had not been on to the training pitches for almost a week. No one has heard or seen anything particularly
with knowledge of any injuries. Make of that whatever you so wish.

I guess you've heard that Colace isn't up to it, I hope your wrong. I think he will play Howard and JCR middle if no Colace.

He will play Hassel for sure. He won't give Colace his debut away against QPR when he has only played 90 minutes against Buxton in our first friendly and probably is a long way from being match fit.
