Oasis the new album is absolutly class and they could play a greatest hits set which would last all day long. roll on december 10th
Coldplay, since while Chris Martin admit to copying Lennon McCartney, it's not as obvious as Gallaghers plaigiarism. Read this review: It's the ghost of U2 and The Beatles that haunts Coldplay the most, I think. You can tell it in the bones of this album, in the backdrop of sounds that accompanies every track. Coldplay realize that U2 and the career they've had is the goal for any kind of British rock band with the sound they have, and so they do the only thing they really can do: take bits and pieces of U2, combine it with the Beatles, and throw it all together into one fine masterpiece of an album.
Oasis I know some will disagree and agree due to taste in music but I think Oasis are the greatest band of my era.
Coldplay, and here's why. Oasis sometimes hit the spot perfectly - other times just sound a bit thick and unimaginative, happy to twaddle around with their pentatonic scales, playing bluesy chords and 7ths and borrowed chord progressions, saved only by Liam's great voice. Coldplay sometimes hit the spot perfectly - sometimes they are sound a bit boring, too similar to Echo and the Bunnymen who were better than both of these bands from a creative point of view. However, Coldplay never sound like a bunch of thick Northerners from a Council Estate, hence get my vote.
