    Barring injury he's nailed on for 20+ for the season , first player since King Ronnie if he does . One before that was Brian Joicey one of the best free transfers we ever had .

    Devante Cole was a free transfer ,so him and Joicey have summat in common.

    Winnall remained at Barnsley and he played a big part in Barnsley's season, including beating Oxford United 3–2 to win the Football League Trophy on 3 April 2016. On 14 May 2016, Winnall's double helped keep Barnsley on course for a return trip to Wembley as a 3–0 first-leg win against Walsall gave them a big advantage in their League One play-off semi-finals. Barnsley went on to beat Walsall 6–1 on aggregate, and then beat Millwall 3–1 in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium to earn promotion to the Championship. He scored 24 goals in all competition, with 23 of them league goals for Barnsley, and contributed 8 assists during the 2015–16 season and finished as the third highest goalscorer in League One behind Will Grigg and Nicky Ajose.

    Sammy the snake definitely got 20+ 15/16. 21 league goals I think and a couple more in the playoffs too

    Could have been one more if Dunkley hadn’t just beat him to it to head an own goal at Wembley. Naturally Sam wheeled away celebrating as if he had scored. I’m sure most of us thought it was a SSW goal at the time.

    Sam Winnall is the only forward since Joicey to get 20 league goals. Glavin and Hignett both AM did .

    No. Payton scored 19 goals in 1995/96, 16 of them in the league. Bruce scored 18 goals in 2001/02, with 14 of them in the league.

    Different seasons. The missed pen was on his debut v Huddersfield for his hat trick in the 7-1 game 98/99.

    He scored 19 league goals in the playoff season 99/00.

    Ashley Ward and David Geddis would certainly have got 20, probably nearer 30, had we not flogged them. And in Stendel’s promotion season we would have had 2 strikers both on 20+ goals, had Woodrow not missed the first 1/3 of the season and Moore the last 1/3 with injury.

    Not league goals no. Dyers best in the league was 16 and paytons similar. 20 in league and cup. Yes and Currie also hit 20. League goals the only forward post Joicey is Winnall
