Might be the first young loan striker we've had from a top team in a long time that actually looks the part... He's already scored more goals than most of them...
This lad is insanely good. I remember a FA Youth Cup Quarter Final at Oakwell a few years ago when Luke and Stefan Moore stood out like men in a boys' team for Aston Villa. Cole looks like that, or a young Cristiano Ronaldo. He's certainly got his Dad's genes. He's so quick but doesn't appear to be busting a gut to get to the ball. Pure class. Not just a Prem player, but a top two Prem player. I'm just amazed we've got him for three moinths - It's like letting your poorer relations borrow your Ferrari for the afternoon!
What impressed me about him most was his all round play, he worked hard without the ball and won it back on a number of occasions, he had the skill to go past people and then pick a pass to create a chance for someone else, and then he got into the box on the end of a cross and scored his goal. He certainly seems to have the right attitude as well as the talent which perhaps has cost the other youngsters we have had down at oakwell in the past. Perhaps his dad being who he is has hammered this home to him, you actually need the effort and application as well as the raw talent.
I think we knew he was quick and could score. What I like is his effort and work rate and how much he outmuscled the opposition.
I think the fact that his Dad is so supportive (Andy was there last night) probably helps. You don't want to disappoint him if he's there watching you
hopefully we can get him until the end of the season but then again he could end up attracting championship teams so they will get him for the second half of the season
Andy Cole was a proper footballer. I imagine his young un will play the right way, with the right attitude Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If he,s half as good as his dad he,ll be some player will be watching his progress with keen interest!
