No wrong definition

Judas - anyone who ever leaves his current employer to take a job with more money elsewhere.

Which I guess is most of us.

Or is being a footballer different?

I can't speak for anyone else but nevertheless I would like to think that there are those who would also consider the wider picture. Instead of deamonising and name calling certain players who are not/reluctant to sign contracts should enquire into the pay structure at B.F.C. and try to establish why these players are sticking their heels in. There has to be some concerns when X amount of players are unhappy about the situation. Whatever is going on down at the club one thing is evident and that is," All is not alright" and I suspect the boards policy on pay(no evidence offered)is the problem here. If allowed to continue it will backfire. One of my concerns though is, if it does, most fans will make a bee line for Ritchie. This would be unfortunate because the real perpetrator here is a man called Shepherd who will come out of this smelling of roses while Ritchie will be scapegoated.

    however..........................

Andy Ritchie-just like the players and all the backroom staff - are employees-they do not own the club -GS/PC and the Council between them do(I'm not bothered which bits are owned by which group)

the owners have an overview of the financial situation and make judgements on what is and what is not affordable

If prospective emplyees don't like what's on offer then so be it

I'm sure that GS/PC have the interests of the club at heart-and that they do take note of AR's views on the football side of things-they are all working together-not as you seem to imply -working against each other

    RE: however..........................

The club had a 2 year plan I believe for getting promoted, however that aim has been achieved a year ahead of schedule - they cannot continue to use the budget they had agreed for the 2nd year of the plan in League 1 when we are now in the Championship. They need to reassess that budget, we will (should) have an increased number of season ticket holders, we will get higher match day income from an increase in the number of away fans, plus potentially more pay on the day home fans, higher revenue from TV which in turn means they can charge more for perimeter advertising etc due to the increased TV exposure.

If we could pay these players in League 1 on the income we had, then we should be able to pay them an increased salary in a higher division.

I wouldn't mind players leaving if there was any sign of replacements coming in but the way we are going we'll have a weaker team in the Championship than one which only scraped out of League 1.

I take on board what you are saying but my interpretation of what is going on at the club, unlike your opinion, is based upon conjecture .I am sure however that you will provide me with what is knowledgable and knowable about the workings of the club.
