Compare and contrast with Crossley.

One commanded his area well, came out for crosses, which he judged to perfection not missing a single one, and catches footballs when they are kicked at him.
The other was in our nets. I am not singling him out for blame when the whole team were thoroughly inept and he had little chance with two of the goals. However, those who describe him as our best keeper for many a year should take note of what a real goalkeeper looks like.

he backed off from a back pass in 2nd half and nearly ended up sat in the f#cking ponty end, poor keeper and no one pushing him for his place so he's in the comfort zone

That's the problem, he knows he wont get replaced.

Breath of fresh air to see a good keeper commanding his area today! Also noticed with Crossley, even when Wednesday were on attack or had corner he was talking to the defenders in prep for an attack!

Most Overated Goalkeeper Since David Watson......

and without doubt a position we need to strengthen. He knows no matter how many clangers and errors he makes, that he will never be dropped so what's the point ?

    But, look at last season.

He had something to prove, Colgan knew he had to perform to his best otherwise a young, upcoming keeper would be replacing him. Now he knows the club won't risk anyone else and he can just keep on playing without any pressure.

Yeah, he was good, but he had years on Watson. Watty would have been a top class keeper. All he needed was the experience.

    true

Saw the west ham game in the prem when he came and flapped at a cross that led to their goal - good keeper though

That would have come with time. He was brave, commanded his area, commanded his defence and as a shot stopper was unsurpassed.

    Crazycripple.........

do you not remember when Watson let in three goals in the last five minutes home to Ipswich ? I remember being 3-0 up with five minutes to go, only for him to do a Colgan howler and going home with only a point. Oldham goalkeeper Les Pogglicolmi isn't any good in my opinion.
