"Colin Healy was excellent and looked fit and raring to get into the first team. We are debating a little whether to send him out on loan for a month so he can get a run of competitive games to give him even more of an edge." REDS manager Andy Ritchie caught up with the Official Website this morning in the build up to Saturday's clash with Sheffield Wednesday. Andy www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "I think it was a game where defences were definitely on top!!! "Seriously though, I am absolutely delighted for Nathan (Joynes) and he really needed that confidence boost. We have always known that he had that in him and he has to show it week in, week out now. "We are all very, very pleased for him. He has been forgotten a little bit around here but took his goals really, really well. "The lads showed great character especially when Leeds brought it back to 3-2 and again at 4-4. The younger ones could have folded but the likes of Danny Smith and Jonathan Loukes just kept going and dragged out a win. "It is hard to lift yourself again after cruising at 3-0 but they kept on pushing and edged the win in the end. "I thought Danny (Smith), who is just a first year, did pretty well. There were occasions when he looked a little overawed but he came through that and put in a decent display at right back. "Colin Healy was excellent and looked fit and raring to get into the first team. We are debating a little whether to send him out on loan for a month so he can get a run of competitive games to give him even more of an edge. "We have had a lot of interest in Joynes, Jarman and Atkinson in the last week or so but we already have Laight and Harban out on loan so we have to be a little careful as we still have to fulfil our reserve team programme. We have to balance things out because we really do not want to play our U18s twice a week at this stage as that would not really help their development. "We could send the likes of Joynes, Jarman and Atkinson out on loan at different times of the season so they see some competitive action. "Daniel Nardiello also did well and scored a very good goal. Having said that I still think he is a couple of weeks away from the first team. "We are still searching and still working on bringing in new faces but there is nothing really imminent at this stage"
"Having said that I still think he is a couple of weeks away from the first team" Not good news for saturday then, looks like if were losing we will have to rely on "bag of" to do well nothing.
Nardi should be at least on the bench Saturday He's had a few reserve games now, scoring goals, so he needs to be on the bench.
For me there is absolutely no doubt that he could win that game on Saturday for us if called on.

RE: "Having said that I still think he is a couple of weeks away from the first team" Can't see why he doesnt put him on the bench and bring him on for 20 minutes. Nothing to lose.... UNLESS it is AR playing mind games!?
