Kingstone school will be closed for the day

because of the strike as well.

We (the pupils) have been told to use the day to catch up on homework or revision!

    Think so.

It probably means "Adults avoid town and Meadowhall for the day"

    As an AUT member

I am currently involved in 'industrial' action over pay.
If university salaries are good enough - how come we keep failing to recruit new lecturers?

Members of Unison and other local government workers, on strike over government backtracking over their pension rights.
University lecturers not on strike, but i would not be surprised if we have another strike day as talks appear to have broken down.

    Its school support staff

Striking because of pension cut backs.

Teachers aren't striking, but kids can't enter schools.
We have been 'encouraged' to go in and mark coarsework etc.

Bugger that. Its a days paid holiday in my book, thankyou very much school admin staff
