I feel Collins gets a lot of stick for his substitutions (maybe I’m wrong and it’s just from the regularly negative posters).

this article would suggest his substitutes aren’t bad. I get the professionally negative will suggest that it is because he isn’t starting the right players. But it seems at face value to suggest his subs aren’t so bad. Maybe he knows what he is doing?

I think his subs are fine. Early on in the season I found it annoyed, sometimes baffling, but as the season progressed he's certainly improved imo. Other than the occasional game, i.e Cheltenham. Fans can't say Collins' substitutions are shocking, whilst also claiming everyone outside the first XI is not good enough.

He should not have taken Cosgrove off last Saturday.

Overall we do not generally improve courtesy of subs. That may more likely be however due to the lack of quality replacements.

Collins is imo doing a decent job. He talks ballaxs post match quite often about how well we’ve played, when we haven’t, and that is his most annoying trait, and why I cannot fully embrace him.

Sometimes though we can play football as good as any team in our league.

Spot on. If we'd left Cosgrove on we'd have won on Saturday.

Disagree mate. We could still be playing now and I feel we'd still not have scored. Just that type of game, unfortunately. But I would have left him on and taken elsewhere off for Cole. Had Cole been on in that first half we'd have at least 2... Irony ey!

In fairness Cole should’ve got 1 when he came on. Was a big chance for a player of his finishing ability.

Aye that header- should have done so much better. Think he's lacking in a bit of confidence at the minute, mate. Hopefully he finds that form over the next few weeks!

I think Collin’s subs have generally been decent. I think a lot of the time they make sense and kind of pick themselves i.e. swapping the wing backs, changing the strikers, getting some fresh legs in midfield.

Easy to sit here after the match, with the benefit of hindsight, and say we should’ve done X, Y and Z.

Yeah does seem like his confidence has taken a bit of a hit recently, luckily Cosgrove’s level has increased the last few weeks but clearly he’s not the goalscorer Cole is.

Getting Devante’s shooting boots back could well make the difference to what division we are in next season. Like you say, hopefully he can rediscover that form and go on a mini run now until the end of the season.

If we were to improve with substitutions would they not be starting?
Presuming you mean change of tactic/person going off having a not so good game.
