Another poor performance (albeit certainly not the only one), but today highlights again his decision making. It's incredibly poor even for league one. I like the fact he tries to take players on etc, but you have to know when to do that and when to keep it simple, or cross it etc, and when he did decide to cross it was a poor one too. I still feel with the right coaching there's definitely a consistent player in there. Some games he can look electric and other games... Still, he's young enough to be coached. Consistency is key
If it comes across that way bud, it didn't mean to - I even avoided the MDT in case someone's shouting to get rid of Collins or half the players because we drew, just so I didn't get into a losing battle against some people But yeah, I'm fine mate. Disappointment felt when we don't perform particularly well but nothing out of the usual feelings-wise bud. Thankyou for asking though
No problem. I was going to launch into a beer fueled tirade. Then I thought about sumat my dad said to me last week. Do you think they set out to not win and make you miserable? I couldn't go. **** happens. I'm chuffed with a point because if I wasn't I'd be one of those people.
No excuse for booing a player off when they’ve done their best. I’ll never question his effort. But he really has no football brain our Barry. I’m not sure he’s destined for a prolonged football league career - and I’m not sure he’s young enough to be coached enough at this point. I felt for him to be honest as he was dreadful today but he kept going.
Well said to your dad mate. I've said similar to my dad over the past year or 2, about trying to not let it affect me. Because before it used to ruin my whole weekend and I'd have right monk on. Now it's just disappointment, sometimes with a lot of frustration towards the referee after many bad calls. If it's true Johnson changed his whole formation from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3 just for our match, then you'd probably have to say match point to Little Lee!
Sounds a wise man. I have never ever understood booing your own players. Especially ones that are trying their best. what’s it going to achieve ? nothing good, that’s for sure.
He's amazing. You can have your Jimmy Greaves, Refearns, Payton's and Kane's. He's all them rolled into one.
I’d never boo a red. But my goodness he was horrendous yesterday. If he starts another game any time soon Collins has some serious questions to answer. No touch, no footy brain, can’t cross for toffee. It was a cheap punt, it hasn’t worked. No problem with that by the way, it’s the waters we fish in and it can’t always work.
Thought Barry made a lot of wrong choices yesterday. He’s blessed with great pace which he ought to use more - I think he gets it wrong when he tries to be too clever with the ball. In the first half he had a lot of the ball which magnified his short-comings. He also needs to concentrate on his defending a bit. Certainly doesn’t deserve any booing!
Personally think we are going to have to put Williams at rwb when Lopata comes back. Both Cotter and O Keefe show glimpses of what they could offer but currently are not doing it often enough.
