Come on Jaffa the inevitable is about to happen, the people have voted on the polls and the vast, vast majority have said your opinion stinks so come on spew some more anti BFC *****, Where are ya (dancin)
i am just waiting for a sensible reply to my posts and then i may start answering back other than that whats the point in talking to people who put feckin bannana images after there messages. ******
Jaffa, If your a Barnsley SUPPORTER!!!! and I stress the word SUPPORTER then get behind the lads and the new manager and stop talking *****.
quote were i have said i am not getting behing the team and the new manager when we get one, you will be searching a long time. i will get behind the team no matter what and the manager no matter what but i just recon he isnt the man to take us any further than we are at the moment
Well said Tyke, i think Jaffa'a got a touch of the Maggie Thatchers, everyone else is wrong!, come on Jaffa a true fan would hold his hands up and admit that Robins record so far shows he MAY be the man to step up to the plate and take us forward, you cant argue with what he's done so far, he may look to be the cheap option but thats way off line and you have to admit that football under a manager with a record for playing the game the right way whets the appetite, if he comes time will tell if he's up to it or not, if he does great a bit of humble pie for you, if not no doubt we'll have to take the **** you throw our way, just out of interest who would be your choice, and why?, how do you think it could be funded etc, you give us a credible argument against Robins, other than cheap, league 2 etc.
thanks a decent reply for once. Like the maggie thatcher comment to be honest lol. anyway... Mark Robins if someone can get up how many games he has won drawn and lost while in charge of rotherham it may show things a bit clearer for us both, but i think running a league 2 club and jumping up 2 leagues to run a football club that has some of the best players in the championship playing for them should not happen, fair enough they say start at the bottom and work your way up, but why dont we get someone who has proved to work under the pressure that our fans/directors will be giving to the manager, my choice would be Paul Jewell when he was at Wigan i really rated him in interviews he new what he was doing, the fans respected him, the board respected him, he took them into the premiership when no one expected that happening. you may come back with a good answer to argue my reply but from the fans i have spoke to in person, not one and i mean one has said get him in he will be the man for the job, a few of them even post on this board i am just waiting for them to bloody answer back to the posts which they dont seem to be doing
I don't agree with everything you say Jaffa but some makes sense. Like people using the "he kept them up with a points deduction" arguement doesn't wash. I mean Rotherham were still expected to stay up anyway as one of the stronger sides in the league.
Rotherham staying up in league two (as a not so long since former championship club lets not forget) with a points deduction is like someone like Everton or Villa staying in the premiership with the same.
this site never seizes to amaze me. Jaffa i totally see where u are coming from with robins and cant understand all the barracking you are getting for having an opinion. maybe we should goto oakwell and sit in silence so we dont upset the natives.
Robins's record at Rotherham Played 129 Won 56 (43.4%) Drawn 43 Lost 30 PPG = 1.64 http://www.soccerbase.com/managers2.sd?managerid=2074 I think that includes yesterday's match but it's still a pretty good record, albeit in a side that could be considered to be artificially playing below their true level in the league.
That wasn't really the point Most people were objecting to Jaffa's ill-advised use of the word "we" rather than his actual opinion, to which he is of course as entitled as the next man.
Paul Jewells record at Wigan Games 291 Won 127 (43.6%) Drawn 74 Lost 90 a total of 455 points Robins (fair enough not been in charge for as many games) 198 points
Let me add as well, Jewell in charge for the championship/premiership mark robins in charge of league 2
I would also say Darren Ferguson as an option but we wont get anywhere at getting him games 132(53%) won 70 lost 33 drawn 29
Jewells record at Derby Team From To Games Won Lost Drawn
Derby 28-11-2007 29-12-2008 58 12 31 15
Jewells required salary (assuming he's be remotely interested) probably 1m+ (was on 2m at Derby?)
So in summary even assuming he was remotely interested he'd want probably 3 times the salary of Robins ie Robins plus two good players wages.
