Nope. Fraid not pal. Countryman best bet. I can't think of any other even fairly central pubs that don't already have their own teams. Could try the new wine bar Or maybe not. Firstly it wouldn't hold 30-40 people. Secondly there's no pool table, dart board etc. It's Boddingtons (puke) and they'll only serve halves not pints. Bag o'*****. Gimme the Anglers anyday. Why's it shutting anyway? There's always at least tickover trade in whenever I go past. Never seemed to struggle. Have they had a good offer for the land to knock it down and put another 50 or so houses up?
Barley Sheaf? That's an old-skool, local type of boozer. I suppose it's my "local" since they knocked the Rose down but I haven't bin to either for, easily, five years! I don't really sup in Wombwell, mate - if I do it's a couple in the Hos-shoe after going for a curry over the road...
RE: Nope. Fraid not pal. I agree the Countryman would be the best bet, as most of the Anglers crowd are from Brampton. It also has a new landlord who would be keen to take everything on I would think. However they dont sell Johns. As for whats happening to the Anglers (dunno)
