It won't be an easy league to get out of, so where are the positives? We can go watch us at Forest Green Rovers to cross another of the 92 off the list. We haven't played Exeter (who look like they should go up) in my lifetime so that would be a new experience like Barrow was this season. Bit of a trek for an away day so we will probably have that on a Tuesday night. Hopefully Morecambe and Fleetwood stay up for some northern seaside trips and we will also have Accrington again. The problem is as much as the Championship is seen as a Premier League 2, League 1 is now like a Championship 2.
I think you've nailed it there. Some great away days and some new grounds, few big sides will probably still be down there for some fired up games at Oakwell, our pathetic attempts at attacking may lead to a few more goals...
No international breaks. On a related note, I’m guessing we’ll continue playing during the World Cup? That will be kind of weird. But then a World Cup in November/December is weird.
No problem getting out of league 1 for me. We made a pretty good job of getting out of the championship!
I liked Stendel and will always remember that promotion season fondly. However, when you look back it would have been some achievement to fail to win promotion with that squad. It had way too much quality for L1. Pity the fella who has the gig come August (or it might be an early start in July).
