</p> The supporters trust which came into play around the same time as Patrick Cryne, which boasts of being "the only fans organisation Mr Cryne will talk to," which has its offices at the club, an official of which took over the BBS is now "working with the club to bring back live commentary as soon as possible."</p> I wonder when the uniforms are coming.</p>
Should they not be trying to help bring back Oakwell AM? </p> I can see them in uniform tho. Not a nice sight, but I can.</p>
RE: Should they not be trying to help bring back Oakwell AM? "thinks " - either grow up - or be constructive
RE: Should they not be trying to help bring back Oakwell AM? The Trust get a lot of unwarranted stick on here, I know that.
been a member since day 1 and not raking over old coals but there was and is an opportunity to put ideas, views and thoughts to the club from a proper forum and contribute in a proper way - instead of typo sniping and " suggesting and developing arguements ( then disappearing when it suits ) there are a number that come on this board and do that.
thats because they're secretive and a lot of people on this board do'nt know every little minute detail of what they're doing even though most of them would just rather do nothing sit on their backsides, and critisis
Maybe mistaken but did the original statement from the club say something like "after consultations with the Supporters Trust this action would be taken". And were the Supporters Trust involved in the Blackpool ticketing arrangements.
I can categorically state That the Supporters Trust played no part in the closure of Oakwell 1575AM. They were at meetings between radio station staff and BFC, as an intermediary presence. The ST will, however, be looking at the viability/costs of providing a replacement to OAM, hopefully with significant funding from the club.
</p> The statement mentioned the Trust but they had nothing to do with Oakwell AM closing. As I understand the only involvement the Trust had were after the event whena replacement service was needed to fulfill PTV obligations.</p>
That's not entirely accurate either HT. Myself and Adam had already agreed to continue providing the service to BWorld, we did consult the ST for advice though and we are still in regular contact with them. I think that the club would agree that the statement put out on the website, without having consulted the ST beforehand, was ill judged.
I am obviously missing something here, having just returned from holiday and not being party to discussion and debate and reasons for the closure of 1575AM. What is the point of closing it down and then looking into putting significant funds into providing an alternative? Can somebody explain please?
Well...as we keep saying - because the station was 3rd party owned, the club had no input in terms of upgrading and maintaining equipment, which was essential. The station fell into such a state of disrepair that the standard of broadcasting became unacceptable, so the club then had no option but to step in and make the station manager aware that they would not condone this. The station manager was not in a position to address the problems, so the plug was pulled. It is quite simple to follow. I have the statement from the club which was read out at Tuesday's ST forum, if I am allowed to post as a frozen thread on here?
Thanks for that Matt but if the club are now looking at putting funds into an alternative couldnt they have funded an upgrade of 1575?
RE: Please. Might shut the whingers up. nt Have the Trust sent a statement to all its members, not just those at the meeting?
