Try opening Windows Media Player, selecting Open URL from the File menu.

Then copy and paste your link and press enter.

When you say doesnt work what do you mean

Does media player connect OK but no sound comes out or do you get errors connecting to the server?

Other thing to try as an experiment

If you have Windows restore operating - go back to a restore point pre IE7 and see if it works then to prove software has broken it

Can you connect to other media file sources

Most commercial radio stations broadcast using media player

pick one from here and see if it works http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/
