They looked like a team high on confidence, like we did in the play-off season and Premier League promotion season and we looked knackered.

If you put our first team against theirs I think we can compete all around the pitch, except up front, which has been said numerous times is not good enough. Comparing Folan's movement with KO's they are at two ends of the scale. The passes are made for KO (and Stan for that matter) and they are not anticipating the ball before it has got there. The amount of times we break and you look up and see the strikers standing still. I like Macken but he needs someone doing the work around him, making runs, anticipating his flick-ons. I was hoping Nardiello was going to do that but it hasnt worked out.
I am however under no illusions that Folan cost a million, but he did originally move from Chesterfield (not sure how much) and we arent going to be able to spend that on a striker.

All said and done I am over the moon to have six points after that week, I was planning in my head for one at best!

My comparison between Hull and us

They're a good championship side. Us - not so much.

I agree with most of your post Rich, its either long hoof up field for KO or Macken if not its 20 passess in midfield to get no further than their centre backs.

We need to strengthen and push on we cant keep relying on other teams to self destruct we need to get to 50points a lot sooner or one season, maybe even this, we could fall into the relegation trap door.

    We reight arent wi...?

Aye lad. I just look at this division and the teams we have beaten (West Brom, Watford, Bristol City etc.) and all it would take for us to step up a touch is a few astutue signings, you go on a run, build up confidence etc. Hull are not a million miles off the team that just stayed up last year in terms of personnel, added Fagan, Hughes and Pederson mainly.

Biggest change in personnel at Hull from last year is Campbell up front & Wayne Brown at the back. Their back 4 is miles more solid than ours, and their strikers score goals.

Interestingly after finishing 4th bottom last year Hull stuck with Phil Brown, what a good decision that turned out to be.

Yes we can beat anyone on our day, but just dont pick up bread and butter points, we matched Sheff Utd both at our place and theres but lost both, Sheff Weds were woeful at our place we drew.

Oh what I would give for a Neil Redfern and John Hendrie.
