Been away in the canaries for a few weeks and come home to the beautiful Darfield to find they've replaced all the streetlights. Cmon then, who else has been treated to new streetlights by the wonderful BMBC?

I always liked that song, Randy Crawford and the Crusaders.
Can't believe it was first released in 1979.... nearly 40 years ago !!!!!

We've got new LED street lights in Dodworth. They're carefully designed to make it look like it's snowing far heavier than it actually is.

Once there properly installed they are pretty good, they can be adjusted by remote control for brightness and spread etc. It's a rolling programme that replaces the old lights as they reach the end of the road, save a fortune in the long run too.

They replaced them all on our street last year. Nice, shiny and bright, as long as your stood directly in front of them. Complete darkness in the shadows behind. Perfect cover for scrotes looking to rob your house or car.

If it's too bright the council can turn it down for you.

    They're crap.

LEDs are meant to be brighter yet these street lights aren't as bright as the old ones.

    Money saving exercise no doubt.
