When I want to use the Search facility in Internet Explorer and various webpages such as Ebay, all my previous search words appear. How can I clear these and stop them keep appearing please?

In the Windows search thingy, click change preferences and then select turn AutoComplete off.

If you're using Internet Explorer as your web browser, go to Tools > Internet options, then select the Content tab and click the <AutoComplete> button... untick all the boxes in that menu.

I hope that works.. if you're using some other browser and can't get it to work, just let me know and I'll have a look how to do it.

Brilliant Tomi - that worked - very grateful. Now can you suggest why my System Restore doesnt work - it go through all the procedure - shuts down, reboots - then says it couldnt restore to the earlier date. I have disabled Norton etc before restoring, but nothing makes it work...

Sorry, don't know what could be wrong with that... I've never used System Restore but perhaps someone who has could be able to help you. :)
