I'm looking at buying a laptop computer from Dell for University.

Is it possible to get a laptop that can connect to the Internet permanently? Ie: Not attached to a socket. I really know nothing about this sort of thing.

Any advice would be good. I suspect the answer is no. :)

    Yes.

    Wireless networking.

Go to PC World & ask at the advice section. The kit costs about £89 IIRC

So that allows me to be connected, for instance, on a train, etc?

Or just when near a connection?
