    Just got an email saying Ip address XYZ has been probed by IP ABC and a port number
    Its given a client number and a CLi land line no..


    Any ideas

    and who is it from?

    From a broadband company.
    Dear Customer,

    We have had reports that one of your users has been probing another companies network. The IP address the probe came from is 123.456.789.101 and the IP of the network it was probing is 987.654.321.101 (port 951).

    We have identified the user as being yzx15@hostingcomapny.co.uk The CLI is 0**** ******

    Please could you consult with this user to make sure that their PC or network is properly patched with the latest Microsoft updates. Please also make sure the network is using a firewall (either hardware or software) and also ask the customer to run a through an up to date virus / spyware scan of their computers.

    Those are not valid ip addresses - wrong format for a start

    Its junk ignore it
