My laptop screen as just rotated anticlockwise 90 degrees unprompted just like it does on the phone. How do I get it back right way up?

Ctrl + alt together and use the directional arrows to rotate back to normal.

My colleague at my old job told me of a great prank whereby you take a screenshot of somebody's desktop, turn it upside down, set it as their background and then rotate their screen so it's upside down as well. If you hide the taskbar the whole thing then looks like it's the right way up until they try to do anything.

Not particularly relevant to your issue, but I always think of that every time somebody accidentally does this to their screen.

Remember a trick we did years back when monitors were the old crt type. After reporting it to the IT dept and saying if they don't turn up sharpish it's getting a hammer thro it. So as we were in an engineering dept we got a 14lb hammer and cut a large lump off the had at 45 deg then sat it on the monitor top. It looked like it was well embedded into the top. The IT blokes face was a picture when he walked in. :)
