Random internet pages keep loading up whether explorer is open or not... sites I have never even been on.

One opens in another tab to any other pages I've got open and a separate window pops up with a blank page.

betfair.com and friends reunited have flashed up as two of the sites.

Gonna try a system restore but if that doesn't work any other ideas?

Pop up blocker is on as well.

    Ta.

    Possible spyware problem mate.

Run a virus scan & if nothing comes up try ad-aware or the like.

Think it might be to do with this site

I keep getting duplicate "Blank pages" opening up in new tabs .... they just go forth & multiply of their own accord.

Usually if I've been on here.

Check your homepage, see what it's set to.

If it's anything different to what you expect, then you have a trojan and you have a task on your hands.

If all is well, then it sounds like a minor virus - try and get some specific information, like if any certain error messages or web coding can be identified - then you'll have a better idea.

My laptop finally ground to a halt this morning.

Restored to factory settings and now it's running like a Ferrari. I'll re-install stuff as I find the need for it but I bet it won't be 20% of all the stuff that was bogging it down.
