Doesnt anyone else wonder why we have suddenly reverted to 352? Seems a bit strange for the manager to start 442 on Saturday to after one match be totally changin the formation. Is Davey already panicking?
Although i used to like the wing back system i think teams at our level tend to get found out too easy and ive a terrible feeling that one team soon is going to pull us apart. Unless of course we revert back to 442. I cant work out what Davey's plans are. I also think bringing in so many players so soon might backfire on us especially handing out 2/3 year contracts.
Dont want to be a doom mongerer but it feels like shades of *******s to me! Hope im wrong.

Or maybe he thought a game against League Two opposition would be the perfect oppertunity to try something new rather then in a key league match?

I think it might have been forced on him a bit

by the injuries. Werling a left back in 442 or 532? Which would you go for?

Is it a Mel Machin 5-3-2 or a Danny Wilson 3-5-2?

    ...you decide.

The best football we ever played was in a team with...

De Zeeuw Appleby Davis/Moses (where Appleby was a sweeper) with Eaden and Thompson being the wingbacks.

or it could be a formation similar

Bishop Fleming Taggart (where Fleming was a sweeper)

with Archdeacon and Robinson as wingbacks.

Have to say though that Machin's team was more defensive. Played correctly it can be a decent system either way.

I suspect you've taken a dislike to Davey

cos he's sorted our keeper problem out. I'll bet you a pint of guinness and a bowl of colcannon we dont concede as many goals as last season.

Comparison of our starting strike force

    Nardiello, Hayes, Richards and Wright

    versus

    Mostto, Ferenzci, Odejayi and Christensen

    really?

    Our strikeforce is better, yes.

But we won't create as many chances, which is something we were doing last season.

RE: Our strikeforce is better, yes.

But if the strikeforce is better, they might not need as many chances to score...?

You still need chances though, don't you.

Look how many we had against Coventry... hardly any. The best striker in the world would have struggled to score then.

If you look at other teams, they seem to create a lot of one on one chances. Whether this is down to our poor defence (which SM says will concede less), or just much better midfield players I don't know. The fact is, we don't seem to be threatening to create any.

I didnt like Davey last season

and said so on many occasions. So far i havent changed my mind. I dont rate Davey and from what i have heard about him i dont like him much neither. i was hopeful we would finish mid table due to the amount of signings. Surely signing 11? players we should do ok but im doubting the quality already of some of them and i have doubted Daveys man management and tactical skills since he became boss.
Having said that if he gets the sack and we take on Neil Warnock then i for one wont be attending any more matches.

    I reckon

you're doubting the signings after 2 games cos none of them are paddys, you dont rate Davey even though he kept us up against all odds cos he's been open about certain players not coming for crosses, but if he signed Ian Harte and a sponsorship deal with Ryanair it'd be Davey for Mayor and Gordon could have the key to Cork, t'bi'sure.
