Taken form Coventry's 'The West Terrace' fans forum.......Whenever did Barnsley play in Claret? - and whenever did Barnsley come from both Yorkshire and Lancashire?.........what a fookwit. ********************************************************************************************** Burnley? Barnsley? I can never remember. By The West Terrace. Posted on Monday 25 Feb 2008 17:42:31 Burnley - Coventry City match preview I always get mixed up between Burnley and Barnsley. I guess it's because both are Northern teams from Yorkshire or Lancashire and both play in Claret. Just googled the two to refresh my memory. There's a girl from Burnley who regularly gets em out on a web cam site I visit once in a while and they do a mean line in Lime Archers at the Cricket Club next to the ground as well as mushy peas and mash in a bowl. There most famous former player is Paul Gascoyne and like Barnsley, they're not very good although Barnsley do have real smoke coming from their chimneys. So it's Burnley away for the Sky Blues after their 2-0 win over local rivals Leicester City. Coventry City scored from a hotly disputed penalty after McAuley hauled back Leon Best as he ran into the area. Then Kevin Thornton had the Leicester defence at sixes and sevens as he jinxed one way and then the other on the corner of the Leicester penalty area before cooly passing the ball forward to Leon Best who placed his shot inch perfect across the goal and into Alnwicks right side. "Goin' down, goin' down, goin' down..." The vocal Sky Blue Army sung as the dejected Leicester fans stood in silence and awe. An easy, well deserved 2-0 victory to the Mighty Sky Blues and to the new Messiah Chris Coleman who will build on the victory and look at steering us away from the relegation places despite Holloways rant after the match. That was the first time Coleman had seen the Sky Blues in action and although, in fairness it was a stroll in the park, hopefully it will give him some ideas on where to work at our game ready to face better teams than Leicester like Scnuthorpe, Colchester, Plymouth and Burnley. (Just noticed that three of those four teams have body parts in their name!) Stephen Hughes will miss the encounter due to the concussion he suffered on Saturday when Coventry City Beat Leicester City 2-0 with Kevin Thornton possibly starting the game after replacing Hughes in that victory and impressing new boss Coleman. Burnley, who have only won twice from their last 12 starts at Turf Moor expect to have Andy Cole back as well as Akinbiyi who both missed Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Plymouth. ©2008 The West Terrace
RE: lol He also no doubt is one of these smug gits that post messages on here and tells us how well Barnsley played and how he always looks forward to his trip to Oakwell - when and only when Coventry have won of course.
Sorry got my threads mixed up Easily done as you know Anyway what's all this about confusing men and women?
