I received some documents to fill in today at work. As the forms were produced by a council, there was all kinds of things in the most minute detail about discrimination of all sorts. There was also a form that had to be filled in by the person doing the work. It wanted to know all kinds of things, ethnicity, age, religion etc. Funny thing was it wanted to know the sexuality of the person completing it. The choices were straight, bisexual, gay, lesbian or other. If you classed yourself as "other", you had to specify!! I'm struggling to think of what anyone could specify under other that wouldn't get them locked up for a lengthy period!
I once had to fill a form in for the Royal navy to be on their dockyard. One of the questions was, "Have you ever committed or been involved in terrorist activities?" Yes/No..... If you answered Yes please give details ff
Like the Visa Waiver form when you visit the US. Have you ever been or are you now involved in espionage or sabotage; or in terroist activities; or genocide; or between 1933 and 1945 were you involved; in any way in persecutions associated with Nazi Germany or its allies ? Hmmm let me see! Plus a few others that you just can't work out what the "correct" answer is! (chinny) http://www.airfares.co.uk/VisaHealth/US_Visa_Waiver_Scheme.asp
My sister went to the US on the BUNAC university exchange scheme and spent 2 1/2 hours in customs being grilled by scary men asking why she wanted to come over there and steal jobs!
Your sexuality is completely irrelevant to the point that... ...it contravenes privacy laws to ask you in a work related document. As a gay I know this kinda ****.
