The lad deserves it. He's been a feature for the under 20's which is a B team for the under 21's. He'll be in the Everton XI in the coming months and i'm one who's very proud we've produced such a talent. Hopefully Roberto Martinez and his coaching staff don't ruin his star potential.
Just got back. He played the full game. Solid, didn't do a lot wrong. Decent going forward but opted to cut in a few times when a cross might have been better. Sat with a load of Wednesday fans and they seemed impressed. Have to say sterling and Barkley stood out.

Known the lad since he was six. In fact I was his first assitant manager for Penistone under 7's! He was an exceptional player then and he was quickly signed up by the Academy when he was 8, and rightly so. I have therefore lost him twice in the last 10 years and i must admit feeling as gutted the second time as I was the first. Kept in touch with John in those ten years as my son went to Penistone Grammar with him as he developed into an outdtanding all round sportsman as well as footballer and person. Cannot believe I was talking to him only three years ago on GCSE results day about his future as he made is debut for the Reserves. It was inevitable seeing his progress since then he would be snapped up by the Prem. Slightly disappointed at the fee and the speed he weas snapped up because I wanted to see one our own play for Tarn for as long as possible. True to his level headedness as soon as the move took place his Twitter account shut down. Immensely pround last night watching and hope and trust he will make it to the very top. He certainly dererves it.A credit to his family and the town.
Yeah I don't think BT Sport was on Virgin when this game was played though. I watched some preview show on it last night, obviously the familiar presenters they've signed up are quite good but there was a bird on it I'd never seen before and she was quite possibly the most annoying human being I've seen on tele, she obviously knew nothing about football.
