scenary better in Huddersfield. Historic buildings better preserved in Hudd. Hudd has better train services. Hudd do not aim to demolish every school in the town and rebuild them.
Huddersfield is a crap night out. Tokyo is about the best place and that's an old house where people used to be killed in the real old days. Huddersfield generally because......... * Trains are pretty damn good. * Kingsgate centre is a better shopping centre. * More multicultural. * The university keeps having millions spent on it (new creative department opening for September).
the student population makes it better for young people. I think Barnsley has a lot of catching up to do with our neighbours. But I think we are on the right road with some things. Like the new bus station, has improved the public transport experience massively. Not that I use it personally much these days.
The new bus station is a bit of a joke in sheffield Re the colour scheme. you are charged if you want to get off the bus inside the station. They are still as unreliable as ever for punctuality ( must be a stagecoach disease) and services have ben culled.
I don't care about the colour scheme and at least it is cheerful. If you had spent as much time as I have stood in the cold dirty bus station in Barnsley and on the street waiting for buses in all weathers Im sure you could not argue. Plus at least it is unusual, I dont think it particularly ugly or an eyesore. Yes I agre about stagecoach and the prices but that is a seperate issue. Thats because of tracky selling up nowt to do wit station.
nice and shiney but slowly filling up with *****. every time i visit barnsley the bus station is full of tracksuit bottom wearing scrotes causing chaos and none of the shitters worked. Nb - Just becuase i had the sense to leave barnsley it doesnt mean i have not done the time in the interchange in its former life.
Agreed the bus station had Dog **** on the floor one Day last week. One thing Huddersfield hasn't got is Barnsley FC and the best folk in England if not the World. I think we have fitter birds an all. According to tis weeks Chronicle the dross which is inhabiting the Town center are vagrants who have been banned from Huddersfield.
not saying you haven't mate. What I am saying is there is no way you cnnot say it is not a mile better. Clean, it doesn't stink looks way less of an eyesore than the old rotting buildings, it is warm and you dont get rained on. Info points far better. As for the users you are bound to get them, but again that is another problem. You mention the toilets, in the old bus station there was not any mate, except the side of the wall for quite a few years. The did build some by the train station, but they were very cramped and dirty.
I'd just like to add that as an ex Tracky employee I think the bus station is very good. I also like to colour scheme. If it was in Barcelona or Paris it would be acclaimed as art.
I like the bus station, but if the scummers are going to treat it like *****, and not look after it, it was a waste of time. When the people realise they are lucky to have so much money spent on their facilities and treat them with respect the better.
