lol I dunno mate! I didnt reckon u would be upto it! I had u down as a computer geek . Jokin but honestly I not thought about it!
You ain't got a pic of Dreamy by any chance have you? its just that i could maybe look out for him as you do your jogging bit like....Never seen him you see . Tina once told me that Wayne had a very good clear one of him (photo) maybe he'd post it up on here.... (chinny) ....That I'd love to see, i imagine him as been a very suave sharp dressed looking young man, with a air of confidence about him?....And its not often i'm wrong about a person.... (chinny) ....
Sounds alright to me. Get bladdered over christmas and then four months of drinking water and energy drinks etc. I've already got a reight plan in place if I decide to do it and wish to raise money for charity ( H ) Got good stamina me
Would you do it for fun, charity or both? Once a week sounds good. I might look into getting a gym membership for a couple of months. Oh and don't worry as I would wait for you at the finish line
Did last1 for Marie Curie Cancer mate. Would def do it for charity. What about you mate? I reckon 2 hours just under would be a great time!
This gets me thinking... Each year, the week before the cup final, thousands of people race across the Lake District in the name of stupidity and charity. Yes, the Keswick 2 Barrow. 40 miles of beautiful scenery and amazing fun, ahem. Teams of 10 compete and the last man's time counts for the teams event. There's also an individual classification (the winner has done it in 4 hours before!?!?) What are the chances of getting up a BBS team? You would be competing for the overall trophy and the trophy for teams outside the Cumbria area. So let's get the T-shirts made up, a few supporting members, equally as important as the runners, handing out energy drinks and geeing the runners along. I've done it 6 times (best time 7h 8m and we've won the team trophy). Are you in? For more details, see... http://www.keswick2barrow.co.uk/home.asp
Cancer is a great charity that's close to me, as is autism. First i'd find out how possible it would be for me to get lots of cash from my contact. We raise money for great causes, have a laugh and get fit at the same time. All good. How often before the event do you usually start training? Don't want to leave it too late
RE: This gets me thinking... Sounds like a killer mate! Im only jus contemplating half marathon. Not sure I'm fit enough! Otherwise I would say for sure!
You certainly have to build up to it... ...but you'd be doing that with all this half-marathon training. By the end we are jogging 25-30 miles to get time on feet. That said, it's not about supreme athletism (I'm 16 stone!), it's just about being able to keep going when you'd rather just keel over. You walk the uphills and jog the flats/downhills (to get a 7-8 hour time). I don't seriously think I'll get ten+ takers for this but you never know.
I'm no athlete mate! Not the best person to ask about training. But I would guess if ur starting from scratch you wanna start a few months before. I would wanna be able to run the distance comfortably about a month before the event! Think you could run for whatever charity u wish mate!
I think that 40 mile course would be too much for me as well. I'm 24 now and so no longer a spring chicken As long as I beat you, it would be a sweet day
24! The record holder was a grandad, believe it or not. It takes a special kind of body (some would say freak) to be able to run 10mph for four hours.
RE: 24! I reckon I could do it in ten hours Do you reckon Mr Davey would allow us to use our club training facilities, seems as we would be doing something for a good cause
RE: 24! erm NO. I dont think he would lol. Otherwise ther would be a few hundred Barnsley ppl in there!
