Is the connection between on the one hand Johnson and players and on the other hand supporters gradually getting more distant. After many years of watching BFC I now don't feel as much part of things -- the players don't present themselves as a united team nor do they connect with the fans. tbh watching a match is little different to watching the team in a training session.
I've read and heard a few comments about LJ and the players yesterday that while unsubstantiated would be a little worrying if true. In regards of the fans I think football forgot it's roots years ago. It's certainly worse the higher up the pyramid you go but I feel its getting worse at our level. The club appear to be trying to engage with the fans which is a good thing but like you I feel the connection there once was is no longer there.
Agree. No players who've been at the club long enough to have a connection with. Need more Hassell, Foster, Steele & even O'Brien types
Agree, it seems as if the 'management' is trying to connect with the fans with various meetings etc. to compensate for the lack of connection with the team but if fans and players drift apart it's not good.
We've potentially got them in Winnall, Mawson, Roberts, Scowen and Pearson (if he was to sign permanently). Can't remember the last time a striker was loved by the fans as much as Winnall?
You can only go off what you see, read or know (either on the pitch, on TV, or on social media) but I would make a positive guess that Winnall loves the fans yes. I'd say that Roberts being a Barnsley lad, stepping up from the conference, and turning down Birmingham to sign for us, would also be a potential strong connection. Pearson turned down championship clubs to come back, and we hear nothing but positives from Scowen unless he gets played out of position. What more do you want to make 'potential' be a valid comment?
John Stones? Danny Rose who apparently had to be consoled whilst being heartbroken when Wilson urged him to sign for bury as he wasn't in his plans? I'm sure there's more.
