Without sounding disrespectful mate, I think that's more on you than on anyone else or the club

Back when he was at Bolton, there were some big clubs talking about spending big money on him. No idea what happened to him at Celtic, but if he can find his feet at the club, we could have a proper player on our hands...

Sorry but that doesn't sound like lower to mid-table talk. Too positive.

I missed most of the first half, but Benson looked to be the stand-out midfielder to me. He was busy, tenacious, and showed some good touches. His goal was a beauty. I’m hoping Duff can turn him into a proper player.

Looked a decent laiker last season too to me. In fact against QPR away it only went to **** when he got booked and Moon came on.

Connell and Benson were excellent today. If they can consistently reproduce that kind of performance we will boss the midfield battles we come up against.

Wouldn't mind someone who can consistently cause problems/test the keeper from free kicks either (Benson). Set pieces have been a let down in recent seasons.

He tries hard but reckon he got one or two sending offs in him, maybe in league 1 he might time tackles better

Correct but then you could flip that around and say the club and how it’s a shambles have created my apathy

If Styles stays as we can't get the fee we want for him with us having Connell Benson Wolfe Kane would he get in our starting 11 in the midfield 3.
When Cadden came off yesterday it was Styles that dropped in at wing back not Connell.

It's hard to tell really. Connell looks really good so far but it's only friendlies where the opposition doesn't tend to go in hard or play at full speed, kane performed well while out on loan but we've no idea how he'll do here, Benson, it all depends if he's as lazy as he was last year or if he tries, Wolfe has great potential and put in some good performances last season but he's still young, has admitted not trying at times and we don't actually know how he'll perform in a more physical league. Then of course there are the question marks over styles himself, he appears to have been going through the motions for a long time now and has certainly not lived up to the expectations we had of him 2 years ago.

It will be interesting how things play out because that midfield could turn out to be absolutely awful in the league or it could tear the league apart. I'm quietly hopeful that it will do well but I have no idea what our best midfield is yet as there are arguments for and against all of them.

I doubt he'll be anywhere near duff's team sheet if he is. So I guess it's up to him.

I was expecting Wolfe to be the main point of our midfield this season but it looks like now Connell is taking that role.
    .

Going on yesterdays team selection which should be a good indication of the starting 11 at Plymouth up until Norwood and Kane are fit. Even with Kane injured Wolfe still didn't start

If Helik and Styles are going and say they go on the last day of the transfer window I would like to see the lads who are staying get up to speed from the start and not disrupt things in September when Helik and Styles leave.
Even though Helik and an on form Styles are quality for league 1, I would have them on the bench for the longer term benefit of the team unless we play them in the hope it attracts bigger bids for them.
