I'm not one for slating individuals but he isn't ready for professional football. Not strong enough, poor passer of the ball, wouldn't put a foot in and he looked terrified going forward. He might be decent in a few years but he isn't ready now.

If Bree and White still aren't available next weekend then we should go Williams RB and Smith LB.

He's a young kid who will get better but I'd rather be playing our young kid that can better in George Smith doesnt seem to add much thus far.

Exactly, it makes no sense why we're accommodating Connolly by playing Williams out of position when he have Smith who is a decent left back.

I think it's a little harsh to say he isn't ready for professional football. Although his performance yesterday wasn't great, it was his first game playing with strangers almost and he did show some good touches.

He looked a similar player to Bree IMO but I do agree we should be playing our own youngsters rather than loaning others'. Unless of course they are head and shoulders above in terms of quality but Connolly certainly isn't.

not sure why he's being singled out. he was no worse than many others on the park. fletcher and watkins were the only players who had owt like a decent game. i'm a bit worried about why scowen didn't get a kick though, and why it took so long for smith to get on the pitch. starting to wonder if neither of em are in hecky's thoughts..

Had a real shocker first half, improved abit second half ( as did majority of the team a little) but i'd be surprised if he starts over Smith next week

Pretty much disagree with all of that (sorry).

Connelly looked lost. He's a kid, fair enough. But we have a kid of our own with plenty of games under his belt. Play Smith LB, move Williams to RB.

Fletcher - did ok but doesn't work hard enough for me. I'd sooner have him as an impact sub, with Winnall starting.

Scowen - yesterday was Brownhill's first questionable game. He's worked brilliantly with Hourihane from the off. The same can't be said for Scowen & Hourihane. I like Scowen, but when the blend is right, as it has been, then he has to make way.

Agree about Connolly and Scowen but I like Fletcher and thought he was one of our better performers yesterday. I'd have brought Scowen on for Hourihane at half time.

I like Fletcher as a sub. Think Winnall does the graft that Fletcher doesn't. He won't get bullied (as much).

A fit Scowen should be the first name on the teamsheet. Pick his partner from there.

Fired would you please stop with this he's a kid. Hes not. He's been in Football a while now, 3/4 years of full time Football. Hes a similar age to Bree and Smith.

On Fletcher, it's just the way he is. He very rarely looks like hes putting everything in but he will be because they are tested for this type of thing.

You really thought Watkins played well? I thought he was awful yesterday that said most of them were, disagree about Connolly too thought he was nervous at the start then grew into the game wasn't the worse out the back four.

Connolly played ok at Walsall , nobody said he should be out of the team and Smith in after that match.

The whole team played **** against Southend , unfair to single out Connolly.

And I see the old favourite, we should be developing our own young lads rather than other teams kids line has come out again now we've lost one game.

Never heard that one after Walsall when 3 loanees scored.

He had a decent debut at Walsall. Very young and inexperienced obviously but the lad can play just might not be ready.

Probably never played in front of 10000 fans before, may have been a tad nervous?
