    Thats insane for a midfielder. Add his work rate, tackling, closing down, rnaged passes etc shows how good he is and should be playing a division higher. Go up and give him what he wants!

    Pretty much irreplaceable whilst we're in this division. We could flog him for several million and still not find someone of the same quality.

    Best barnsley midfielder scince hignett now. Really improved his all round game this season if we don't go up he will be gone.

    Being given the captaincy has made Hourihane as a player. He has led the team brilliantly and his work rate has been second to none.

    Like many have commented, we did well to keep him in January and should this great run we are on fizzle out, am sure he will be gone in the summer, with the club( hopefully) benefiting from a hefty price tag.

    Should we continue this run and miraculously gain promotion, I would hope we would be able to offer him, and a few others, an improved contract.

    This young team, if the majority can be kept together, is only going to get better and better.

    I suppose the question is, how many of them are good enough to make the step up a league, either at the end of this season, or more realistically, the following season.

    Those stats are mightily impressive. As a supporter who has criticised his performances in the past I'm more than happy to admit that I was wrong.

    He's become the Captain we needed. Not only does he lead from the front, he talks well on and off the pitch. He also looks a lot fitter helping him to get round the pitch easier. Always the first in support when anyone needs an outlet and always the first to clatter into a tackle if needs be. To be honest I'm only scratching the surface of how good his performances have been.

    Humble pie well and truly scoffed.
