For me today, his best all round performance. Might not have slammed in a 25 yard error but the guy led the team like a captain should, by example. Quality play, grafted, and just made it look pretty simple.

Fantastic from Conor today. The sort of game he might have gone missing in last season. Captain's performance.

Good shout that. Proper captains performance. Whether it's down to LJ or hecky or Tommy it's certainly working. Playing like a man transformed .

Outstanding. Last few weeks he's looked a class above any any midfielder we've played against.

you realise all this is building up to Connor smacking in a long range free kick at Wembley, for the winning goal. fingers crossed of course!!
but seriously im just as happy to hear these comments about him putting in the hard work, as you all say thats a real captains performance. when we know he can perform like this, hes definitely one of our star men.

I haven't watched Barnsley much this season - but the most striking difference I've seen when I have is the improvement of the all round game of Conor.

I don't know if it was always a myth that he couldn't play in a 4-4-2 but it certainly is now. He's improved massively in all aspects of his game. Still gets forward but now commands the midfield area, wins the ball, and looks a real leader.

I think some credit goes to LJ for the work he's obviously done with him, but most of the credit needs to go to Conor. We'll be very lucky to keep hold of him for long.

Leading by example and rarely has an off day anymore.

He'd be my player of the year so far too.

Yeah he should be winning back to back player of the season awards. Another assist today and lead the team brilliantly. Lets enjoy him whilst we can because in the summer when he's only a year left on his contract I don't fancy our chances of extending it :(

Wouldn't be my choice, but I'd be surprised if Hammill doesn't win it.

1)Hammill-the difference he's made to the team is incredible & shouldn't be underestimated
    2) Hourihane- captain fantastic. Vastly improved player. A real 7/10 every week
    3) Winnall- our main goal scorer again. Crowd favourite. Will always be up there. Tends to go missing more than the other 2 mentioned though

Crackers in it? Opinions. I thought he was poor, their midfield was all over us second half, Connor was nowhere to be seen, we were too deep and giving them too much time on the ball.

I'd put that more down to coppinger coming in. I hate him but he's the player that they play around and thrive on. They look totally different teams with him in/out.

I have to agree with this. I thought Connor was excellent first half. But for that 15 or so minutes after half time, we were all at sea in the midfield. Paul reacted quickly in bringing Scowen on, which it definitely needed, and did so in plenty of time for us to turn the game again.

I only disagree because his performance in the JPT away at Fleetwood is up there with one of the best I've ever seen from a Barnsley player. He was unplayable that night, and capped it off with what should have been the winning goal.
