    Not sure he's the sort of player we need. I'd rather get George Warning back.

    The players we are looking at are a bit underwhelming - if true.

    Slightly agree. We need some here and now players. Alfie Mawson and Conor Wilkinson are both players who are potentially better than were we are at the moment but they are not players who are gonna rip this league apart at this present time. The only player I can see competing at the moment who we have signed or linked with is Marley Watkins.

    We have a budget bigger than both S****horpe and Colchester and they've recruited better then us so far

    We have agreed a deal with Bolton £75,000 apparently ! Was on loan at Oldham twice under LJ. I am getting a feeling of de ja vue with the signings and player we are linked to ! We are trying to sign 5 players with links to Oldham, either played there on loan ot their players !

    Can I just point out that the likes of Scowen Davies and Hourihane were not exactly thrilling signings at the time and they all turned out to be fantastic where as big name players like Lita Turnbull and Treacy were all massive let downs. All our best players last season came from lower leagues. You should of learned not to judge a player before he has kicked a ball for us.

    From League 2? All I've said was we need some here and now players, nothing else. I haven't got a problem if we sign both Wilkinson and Mawson as long as we're bringing some experience in as well

    Find a link when I've slagged of Davies, Scowen or Hourihane and find a link when I've actually criticised Mawson and Wilkinson. We need experience and are not going to be successful just signing young lads and selling them on when they've gained the experience just to buy young lads again

    Of course we need some experience in there to help the kids along. However, those type of players are wanted by just about every club in league 1 and 2. Completely right to bide our time and get the right player, that wants to be here and for the right price.

    No way Scunny have recruited better than we have by the way. Two words Scott Wiseman.

    As I've said on here before, that night that me, Roy and Hicksy talked to LJ, he said he wasn't sure about Waring and felt he could get better, cheaper. I think we can safely assume this Wilkinson lad is that 'better' cheaper player. Seems similar in age, size and position. I suppose time will tell. Oldham fans are giving mixed reviews, but they can't stand LJ or us so I'll take their views with a pinch of salt.

    He didn't deem Oates good enough either. So I am expecting this Wilkinson lad - if he signs - to be a decent option if he's better than him and Waring. Fingers crossed.


    Agree with those suggesting we could do with a bit of experience adding to the squad too, but I'm sure that'll happen in time. I'm just glad we seem to be getting deals done at last, to chill a few folk out and thus killing the endless threads about our lack of players/activity so far. Although I expect they'll be replaced now with threads on how **** the new players are...

    Forgive me, but i really dont understand this? Ive only seen two linked with us, Liam Kelly is often memtioned and now this Wilkinson. Who else is there? I will never understand why a negative spin is always put on everything Barnsley FC related.
