http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...from-aston-villa-celtic-and-rangers-1-8299051 hecky confident he will sign a new one. Winnall and josh also in talks them 3 signed up would be a right xmas present.
Oh, I hope so. What a bonus if we could get all three signed up. Who knows where this team could go should this happen. Very important for me too is to get Marley signed up. He's such an integral part of the team, also Morsy who has been magnificent. Really need all these players to sign so we can continue this marvellous journey that We're currently on! I never want it to end !
IMO, if the Celtic link is true he will go there. Champs League football. Shoe-in for the national side. Perennial title winners medals.
Yes and it's taken from an interview before the Wednesday match. Hecky talks about Connor scoring in front of Roy Keane and being confident he will sign. It's old news nothing new.
Shame this isn't telling us anything new and just making an article off what was said a week ago. I hope some replica shirts are being made to do an Hammill offer of free name and number printing if he does sign a new contract
Can't see him staying. I'm off down to Halfords to buy some spray paint for mi car before they sell out for "Judas" graffiti
I guess IF we manage to get Connor signed up it'll be on a two-year deal and we'll sell him for big money at the end of next season if we don't go up. That would be a pretty ideal situation and relies on nobody from the Premier League coming in for him. If they do there's no way he'll stay and fair enough, but if not I reckon we should be able to persuade him that staying at Oakwell at least for a little bit longer would be better for him than going anywhere else in the Championship. I genuinely think that if we can keep the side together we'll have a real crack at the top six in 2017-18. It's a very big "if" though.
nothing new, however i was really encouraged by heck saying he was 'confident'. i don't think heck would have said that if he wasn't very confident. josh and sam are probably replaceable for the budget we have. conor isn't. it would be a huge signing for us.
I agree about Conor. I'm not sure how we would replace Winnall a 15-20 goal championship striker wouldn't be cheap. It's easy to undervalue his contribution given the style of player he is but I think you are probably talking relatively big money to get anyone who could supply the same output. Imo.
I honestly believe Bradshaw could have a similar goals output to Winnall. Get Omar Bogle in for 34p from Grimsbeh, and polish him up with a view to replacing Bradshaw in 2018. Rinse and repeat. Hourihane is irreplaceable, though, on our budget. I assume we'll have to change the way we play, and the quality of our set-pieces will suffer too.
Bradshaw is an interesting one we paid around 650 grand for someone who has scored 3 goals. If you look at all the players around Sam in the top scorer list none of them came cheap. It's easy to say someone can score goals more difficult for them to do it. I've seen Bogle play he's a million miles away from 15-20 goals a season championship standard. If we were lower end league 1 he would be fine.
I agree sam would be hard to replace on our budget. But bradshaw has only just started having a regular run in the team these last few games before that it was just sub appearances last 10 mins. Bradshaw scored just as many as sam in league one last season I see no reason why bradshaw wouldn't score in this league.
No I agree I like Bradshaw and think in time he will score goals at the same time it is a step up. Sam has taken to it, after a stuttering start, very well. Tom might take longer.
Agreed but he's got a 1 year extension available so hopefully we can get that agreed to keep him here until 2018 then that buys us more time for negotiating!
