    "A FORMER headmaster who hoarded 8,000 child porn pics walked free from court yesterday after a judge accepted that medication for Parkinson’s Disease had turned him into a paedophile.
    Phillip Carmichael, 58, admitted downloading the videos and images — with one in the most serious “Level Five” category — but got an absolute discharge as lawyers said the drugs had boosted his sex drive.

    Judge Mary-Jane Mowat even rejected a prosecution appeal for him to be put under supervision after hearing about his “impeccable record”.

    One image of a nine-year-old girl was downloaded BEFORE the retired primary school head began taking medication for Parkinson’s and Graves’ Diseases.

    Carmichael said he did not know why it was there and Judge Mowat agreed to disregard it."

    Fair do's, drugs for Parkinson's may have boosted his sex drive, but having a high sex drive and looking at kiddies does not go hand in hand in my opinion.
    Why couldn't he make do with a real women, a prossie, or adult porn?? Is that not enough to satisfy a high sex drive?

    As for disregarding a downloaded image before taking the drugs because "he did not know why it was there " is a joke. Did aliens do it one night? How many people have access to his comp?

    Maybe I should refuse to pay my credit card bill due to "not knowing how transactions got there". Wonder if they'd be as leanient with me?

    Absolutely disgusting.....

    We discussed this one at work. How the hell he got a 'not guilty' is beyond me? Blaming the tablets? FFS!! :(( The general conclusion was that we all like to think we have a high sex drive, but would never, ever, contemplate such depravity. The headmaster had even downloaded something from before he was 'on medication' so how the hell he got away with it is unbelievable!

    I find it amazing how people such as this have 'rights' and normally receive such light sentences.
