Is starting to really pi55 me off now.If i get sat next to one of these fans at another away game(don't hear it at home games) i will have to forcefully remove you! Get off the lads back and let him get on with his football. His effort and workrate is 10 times that of another striker who shall remain nameless who the crowd seem to bum even though he only ever shows flashes of his obvious talent. Lets put it into perspective; last week Wednesday bid £750'000 for a striker who is in the same league as Hayes was last year and is no more proven than Super Paul. Now they wanted him to play in a division higher than ours against better oppostion and were willing to shell out 5 x more than we have for Hayes. If they had signed him who would have been ripped off out of the two? I ask you? We have apparantly paid £150'000 for a 21 year old who banged in 19 goals last season. Have we been ripped off? I don't think so Have we got a bargain? Definatley He dosen't need to justify his price tag like some idiots have suggested, this question won't even be a issue come next May.
Well said buddy The size of the fee has nothing to do with the lad anyway , it was set by an independent tribunal . We have players like Hayes , Nardiello , Howard , Shuker , Jarman , Richards , Kay , Tonge , Williams , Reid , Flinders , Austin who are all in their early twenties or stiil in their teens . They are nowhere near the finished article and will not reach their peak for a few years yet . This means there are parts to their game that they still need to work on and improve , provided that they are willing to do so . We have a large percentage of our squad who can only get better . It can certainly be frustrating at times , though , when players don't produce what we think they're capable of and that is why fans vent their frustrations . I'll get off my soapbox now !!
i have never questioned his ability as i think he is capable of playing at a much higher level than league 1, however i have questioned his workrate, which by the way was much improved yesterday looked much more up for it than of late and hopefully the goal will have given him a much needed boost,as for nardiello, for me i think he lacking confidence at the moment, but still needs to pull his finger out.
Nardiello and Hayes have potential to be the most deadliest strike force in league 1 in my opinion they just need more games together and Nardiello to pull his finger out of his arse
Well Said Hayesy is quality. He works hard, can hold the ball up, creates chances and scores some blinders aswell as his top class finishing. He hadnt scored for a while cos hes been unlucky. Hes got that goal now. Hes worth every penny.
RE: i agree . he's got bags of potential - As long as it's not like the legend the other week who had made the grand total of 20 appearances for us!
RE: Well Said agreed, hayes has everything a striker should have! when we have a throw in in the opponents half he is always there to lay the ball off, his goal he picked the corner very well mayb took a nice bounce wut whatever. after that he had another cracking shot that was saved. when walsall went on a break down the wing i saw someone running bak and did i superb sliding tackle when i saw it was hayes i was chuffed because i think hayes is brill.
