Not related to the previous thread really so I'll start a new one. Can somebody explain to me when putting a concrete post across the railway tracks is a good idea?

I was on the Huddersfield to Sheffield train this morning somewhere close to Summer Lane when there was a bang and the train came to a halt. The driver and conductor got off and went back up the line to see that somebody had placed a concrete post on the line. Fortunately no harm done but, WTF? A busy derailed train could easily lead to fatalities.

    Numpties.

Barnsley, near the Summer Lane bridge. Is that where you left it ;-)
