contract buy out clause question

    if i'm contracted for another 2 years to raggedarsed rovers but have a buy clause in my contract of £1m if i personally meet that valuation and buy my own contract out does that make me a free agent so can sign for anyone irrespective of any transfer window

    I'm pretty sure that Neymar did virtually the same during his acrimonious transfer from Barcelona to PSG. Paid his own money to La Liga to trigger the release clause and effectively signed on at PSG as a free agent.
