Not!! 20 for 2 in no time at all. Good job they have a hundred lead on the first innings. I despair of the England cricket team, I really do. If they were to put 9 or 10 Yorkshiremen in it we might do well. Yorkshire would still be ok for the Championship
Ali flown out today, should be him and Lyth opening 2nd test. Bell or Root captain. Broad will be lucky to keep his place too.
It's not just football managers who play their men out of position. Trott is NOT an opening batsman. Number three maybe, but not opener. Cook is living on his reputation. Why on earth can't they just take the captaincy off him and let him see if he can find his scoring touch again. The England cricket management is just weak, weak weak. Always has been. And incompetent.
It takes some doing to get dropped from the England cricket team (Pietersen being the exception) What more can Adam Lyth do to get in? Also why have England taken Yorkshires Rashid Bairstow n Plunket out thete if they have no plans to play them?
I take your point PoR but Trott has had a couple of snorters in this test. That said I'd open with Cook and Lyth, leave Trott on the sidelines until one of the middle order has a run of 3 or 4 poor tests. I think Cook will return to form.
Yes they can I agree. They can come and go at any time. Innings of 0, 2, 0 and 4 is hardly the form of someone in tip top shape. At the moment the decision to allow him back is backfiring. It's a topic on Cook and Trott so I spoke of one of those two. I know others aren't English and that's not any better because basically having foreigners represent your country makes it harder for you to support it. If you win something it's be default through relaxed rules.
I don't agree that his low scores are due to him 'not being in the right state of mind'. I blame a mixture of him being under prepared and getting some decent deliveries early in his innings. You play cricket, you know you can get one with your name on early and there's not a deal you can do about it.
So dreamy in your world you don't get nationality by being born somewhere, or by parentage it seems now. What is your extremely narrow criteria for being able to play for a country? And do you vote ukip?
