Cut and pasted. Not my words. These are the words of the official site repeated here for the public interest.
THE accounts for the year ending 31 May 2005, as expected, show a considerable improvement over the results for the previous year.
It is not our intention to publish these accounts in detail but figures of significance include:

YEAR ENDING 31/05/05

YEAR ENDING 31/05/04

TURNOVER

£4,159,331

£3,539,562

LOSSES

£1,240,072

£3,540,152

Employee settlements were down by £786,820 on the previous year.
Other savings were made across the board.
The parent company of Barnsley Football Club is now Oakwell Holdings Limited.
Barnsley Football Club Chairman Mr Gordon Shepherd commented: "It is stressed that the Club continues to trade only because of substantial financial support from Patrick Cryne. Credit where it's due ... They're doing a bloody good job behind the scenes regardless of views on what they should/shouldn't be doing, I do think that they deserve some credit for wading into all the s**t that they have.
not only that... next time you are darn at t'well... take a look at the advertising boards... FULL. Now starting to advertise on the INSIDE of the stands. They are also doing something right, cos the exec boxes are booked up for the next 2 years for home games...
RE: not only that... Some appeared alongside the scoreboard aswell.
This new marketing bloke of ar's, Darren Hayes, looks like he's doing a good job..

them ones round the scoreboard Am I the only one who hasnt got a clue what they say?
You're right though, a lot of advertising whatsits do look full. Now they just need to consider the suggestion I gave them a year ago and that is to get advertising banners put up at the academy/indoor pitch. (unless they already have done, i've not been down)

RE: them ones round the scoreboard i sit in the ponty row gg three rows from the back, and i havnt a clue what they say either!
Whomever designed that advertising wants sacking.
Not inferring its any body at the club like.
For instance I am considering getting my Bathroom refurbished.
From the east stand upper, middle for diddle, I could just about make out that it said bathroom, nothing else, just that.
What a waste of space & money.
Incompetance in extreme.

It says bathroom? Well that's something I didn't know before.
I don't think that it is the club that designs it, there were advertising boards around the pitch that couldnt be read and they were designed by the company and the company that makes the signs. I agree they should be sacked.

e n t e r p r i s e you cant hardly see that it says enterprise at the back of the ponty. doesnt even say it on the roof bit like it did with ora and van damme.
yeah that looks crap in my opinion I suppose it's fine if you're directly facing the stand and it is empty but if you are actually in it or in one of the other stands then at least one letter is missing because of the angle you look at. The letters are too small as well and the spacing between them is too big, they just look like random letters.
