Didn't Burton Albion have a similar issue with a keeper wanting big wages when they got the draw with Man United? Can't remember if he played at Old Trafford in the replay or not.

    Sorry if already posted.

Personally I don't think we should be held to ransom but that doesnt solve the keeper issue.

I don't see how west brom wanting us to pay the wages of someone playing for us is so unreasonable n

I agree in principle however my understanding is that it would break the club wage structure.

    Dont think it is

Steele is under contract for another season.

WBA probably want us to pay his high wages for that year and Steele wont take a pay cut?

west brom have said we can have him on a free at the end of the season, the wages that he'd be on would be negotiated between barnsley and luke. so if we cant agree terms then it is presumably with him, not west brom.

He wont **** off from WBA if he's on 8k a week and we offer him say 4k a week.

He will want his 8k a week and thats that.

To go on a free we will have to agree a contract that pays what he wants, otherwise he sits tight.
