well i was Pipex for about 5 years, then decided to go Sky fantastic, as for AOL i wouldnt have thats ***** even if it was FREE
I thought we were unable to have sky as it was not available in our area yet. So i have heard.... Might sound abit daft
I get connected with Be Internet tomorrow. They claim to give up to 24 meg broadband depending on how far away from the exchange you are located. I'm most impressed with there service so far. Text messages to let me know my order is being processed, provisioned, date of go live (which was 2 weeks earlier than originally suggested). The snazzy wireless router arrived today ready to be switched on tomorrow.
I've been with Virgin for about 5 years now(when it was Telewest0 and ive never had a problem with it...its worth the little bit more money imo
Virgin Media (ex Blueyonder) is good But I still go for TV via Sky p.s. If you are going to capitalise a word to emphasise it, it's better if you use the correct word!
So you will be offline for a few days then I read an article recently that indicated you are only likely to get 24Meg if you are sitting inside the exchange, so will be curious what you actually receive Dixon Virgin Pipex and Zen are worth a look - Im on Tiscali and wouldnt recommend them - though they are better than AOL
RE: So you will be offline for a few days then Yes a theoretical maximum. I got 4mg down stream / 1mg up. It seems Im 3.5km from the exchange so that's the most I can hope for.
RE: So you will be offline for a few days then All the other broadband providers reckoned they could only do 1meg to my place.
Well I work in the ISP business, and probably the best for customer service and reliability is Zen internet. Zen.co.uk. Check out thinkbroadband.com for independent advice.
I use Orange, and overall...... Decent, I've had two issues where I have suffered prolonged times of no internet use, but a letter to their CS department has rectified it very quickly after both occasions. The telephone support seems pretty **** though (Ventura in India).
