Yer see that's why clubs hate it when a player coming to have look leaks out.... encase they don't sign. Makes em llook a touch tinpot.. Not good for keeping moral up..
Well one would hope that, that would not be mentioned in the recruitment process.. It all depends if a player thinks he's forwarding his career by coming here... or not
Absolute nonsense. It is all 100% about the wages. None of our players would have left us for fellow league clubs if we could throw £25k a week at them, I'm sure even those up the road would admit that with SW!
Unless something changes financially at the club, we will always struggle at this level. We've done so (in the championship) for most or part of every season since we came back up in 2006. That thought might be enough for our own fans to have a downer on the club, but players fortunately don't think like fans. 2nd tier football is 2nd tier football regardless of club. It's somewhere to prove yourself individually and hopefully be a stepping stone to either a higher level or better money.
But for the right minded player, they have a far better chance than most clubs in this league of making our starting 11, hence putting themselves in the focus. Go to the likes of Villa, Wednesday, Boro and you become much more a squad player. Coming to Barnsley they are hardly going to be paupers, lets get realistic, so the players that we do sign if they have had offers from the bigger clubs in the division have the right mindset..
Good point that mate. Obviously not to the same extent as the top premier league clubs, but on a par with some of the others.
Just making the point. Some clubs in this division pay players over £50k a week. Okay we'll lose some players to ones that can offer £10k plus but some are basically operating as Premier League clubs in the Championship.
