Given Brian Howard's superhuman performances since being given the mandate to go forward are we a stronger side without the flimsy gobshite?

Personally I never saw what everyone raved about

I didn't see him in more than a few games, but he only impressed me in one of them.

    True..

Mcfrail was fine for the 3 months leading up to his contract end. Never was up for a battle as pikecaster found out to our endless embarassment.

Could always find the pass to unlock a defence and execute it with sufficient accuracy. If he weren't so one-footed and injury-prone he would be a star. Our problem was that he was only on form and 100% match-fit for about the last 3 months of his 2-year deal.

I personally think we still need Healy. If we could always start with Devaney, Togwell, Howard, McIndoe I think we have a better midfield than any of last season's combinations. However, over a 50+ game season, league and cups, we can safely say that is unlikely. If we can land Healy as well, we have a hell of a midfield on our hands.

However, I worry about our fullbacks - Hassell needs to continue last season's improvement and I think Heckingbottom at 27 (or thereabouts) is at his prime, which makes me wonder if he is good enough.

    I think so

We are certainly no less effective.

And, had we kept him, it's very possible that either McIndoe and/or Togwell might not have happened. Unthinkable!

Given the choice again, I'd be well happy to stick.

Whereas his new employers might just live to regret it.

Based on a full season, personally feel that he wasn't contributing enough and had more quiet games than busy ones!
Only came to life when his contract was up for re-newal and knew clubs would be looking at him.

Personally feel we are a better team without him, and howard already shown that he is easily replaced. Togwell allows Howard to get forward and show his true game.
