Provide evidence to show how we have progressed during the second reign of Danny Wilson?

By evidence I mean some stats or examples. Not things like "I like him and I'm convinced he will do well - I just am" or "I enjoyed the first twenty minutes against Notts Cty". That dunt really prove owt.

you openly admit that it wasnt until last week that you started calling for wilson to be sacked. therefore you must have been fairly satisfied beforehand. so you tell us, you must know

I've been very unimpressed from the first day of the season and I'm just wondering when the point comes that his sacking is unavoidable.

He had the chance to bring his own players in and form his own team and it's not exactly been a success has it and no sign that things are turning the corner.

Can you provide evidence that sacking him will improve things? Will the next man only get one year before he becomes a clown and needs sacking.

I'm asking the questions here Mario, but I will say that virtual every appointment or signing is a gamble. That alone does not justify not making a chance when necessary.

Success is usually judged on expectation so I would imagine your request will be met by loads of contrasting views.
My view is that games have been indifferent from good to bad so too early to judge his tenure at this stage but I'm not expecting too much this season, mainly want to see academy lads given chance so anything but relegation imo.

Offensively we've played a lot of entertaining football since the summer. Unfortunately we've been **** at the back.

I'm prepared to give Wilson time because I've seen other clubs in the same scenario that we find ourselves in where they've been relegated & changed 3/4ers of their squad and it's took until the second half of the season for them to gel & play their best football.

If others don't want to give him that time then fair enough but I hope the board aren't trigger happy

I agree with the fundamental argument but I don't think it is time to make the change.

To show progression you compare what's happening now to what has gone before

    2014-15
    P20 W6 D5 L9 Pts23 F30 A34

    2013-14
    P20 W3 D6 L11 Pts15 F19 A38

    2012-13
    P20 W4 D5 L11 Pts17 F19 A32

So we've won more, scored significantly more goals and accumulated more points than the previous two seasons. That's an improvement, that's progression. No opinions, no caveats, no explanations, just the stats liked you asked for. Let's see if you can accept them. I've got a feeling you won't, I've got a feeling you'll start offering opinions and explanations that, as you've already stated, dunt really prove owt.

While I completely understand that Conan asked for facts & you've given them, we're playing Walsall, Colchester & Fleetwood this season - not QPR, Burnley & Leicester. If someone had said to me that you will have 8 more points after 20 games than you had last season in the championship before the season started, I'd have been very disappointed - regardless of the rebuilding job. The defensive record is an absolute disgrace & I still feel that comes down to a midfield that has been built that couldn't win a tackle or protect a back 4 if the world depended on it - that to me is down to the manager & isn't something I see changing in the squad he has built, as much as I wish that wasn't the case.

But Jay, you surely miss the fundamental point that we are in a division lower (3rd tier).

Jays point is right. The results are measured within the respective peer group so it is a fair comparison. It seems most understand on here that bottom half of Championship one season doesn't translate to top of L1 next. I am pleased to see some progress. However my expectations are top half through the season till Christmas, setting up some hope of being close enough to Playoffs than relegation second half. My emotions will have recovered enough to be 100% behind the managers and players going into Saturdays game.

I haven't missed it, but if you take that in to account then you have to bring in opinions. Conan asked for stats, not opinions.

You're going to say the teams in the Championship are better than those in league 1. How do you know? The teams don't play each other. All we know is when they were promoted from League 1 they had a better team than 21 of the other teams in league 1. Since that promotion their team has changed, in some cases beyond all recognition. Since that promotion the teams of all the clubs in league 1 has changed. The clubs in the championship may have spent more money on their squads, but we all know that spending money doesn't necessarily improve what you've got. If you plucked any team out of the championship, allow them to keep the squad they've assembled, have them play in league 1 for a season, would they win the division. I don't know any more than anyone else, but history suggests not.

I don't know if we're playing worse teams than we did last season. Some people will tell me we are, they'll tell me it stands to reason, they'll tell me I'm talking *****, but they don't know, they're just offering an opinion. And if we're doing that, it's my opinion that, these last few games aside, we're playing much better football than we have done for years. But I've been told opinions can't be quantified, we need stats, so I've provided some.

Pasta, i commented on the Stats showing progression year vs year. In that context there can be comparisons. In terms of my perception of how we are doing, you will see i have gone on record in many posts that i feel we are going backwards.

I don't necessarily disagree with you but you've basically set a question that people can't really answer then haven't you. Whatever stats people use you'll just come back and say "but there's worse quality opposition so you're wrong". Unless someone decides to spend a full day coming up with stats adjusted for opposition quality this thread is just going to end up in a massive circular argument.
